Our Shared Ethos

Participation over passivity.

Ours is an active, engaged community. Members contribute time, energy, and presence to shared projects, care of the space, and the successful evolution of the community.

Women-centered leadership and culture.

Our norms have been shaped by women prioritizing cooperation, emotional safety, and shared responsibility. We value ways of relating that are attentive, accountable, and consent-based.

Collective care.

We look out for one another. This includes tending shared spaces, noticing when someone needs support, and addressing issues directly and respectfully rather than letting resentment build.

Clear boundaries and communication.

We value honest, timely communication and a willingness to navigate conflict thoughtfully. This is a community for people who are comfortable naming needs, hearing feedback, and repairing when missteps happen.

Purposeful living.

Residents are engaged in creative, civic, or social-change work and value living in a way that aligns daily life with broader commitments beyond the community.

Shared responsibility.

Community labor, governance, and decision-making are shared. This is not a living arrangement that is compatible with a highly serviced or hands-off way of being.

Not family-oriented.

Our rhythms, spaces and expectations are designed for adults in shared life rather than family-style or child-focused living.

Mutual fit matters.

Compatibility is essential. Prospective residents spend time getting to know the community, and joining is a mutual decision based on alignment with these values.
