Is this actually happening or just an idea?

True North is real, and it is in motion. The vision, values, and governance model are established. The website you're reading is the public face of an active founder search. The geography is committed — we are building in Wisconsin, in the corridor between Madison and Milwaukee.

What doesn't exist yet is land and a founding team. Those two things are connected — True North is a co-investment from the start, which means the founding team and the land search happen together, not sequentially. And while founders carry the earliest financial commitment, every member ultimately invests in this community — in their own home, in shared infrastructure, and in the relationships that make it worth building.

If you have founder energy and feel the pull of what we're building, you are not too early. You are exactly on time.

When will True North be ready?

The honest answer is that we don't have a move-in date yet — and we're not going to invent one. What we can tell you is what has to happen first: a founding team assembles, values alignment is confirmed, land is identified and acquired, and the physical community is designed and built. Each of those steps takes the time it takes, and rushing any of them is how intentional communities fail before they begin.

What we do know is that we are actively working toward each of those milestones. The vision is set. The geography is committed. The founder search is underway.

If you're the kind of woman who can hold a long horizon without losing momentum, you'll be comfortable here. That capacity, it turns out, is one of the things we're looking for.
